Why Therapists Should Be Sharing their Passion for their Work

All too often, therapists seem either too humble or too shy to talk about what they do.

They meet business associates or just people in the street, and when asked what they do, they skirt around the subject.

If you are doing this, then you are doing your profession and your practice a disservice.

You may also be putting others off from recommending you. Remembering that the life blood of any private practice is referrals.

If you are confident and a touch proud about what you do, it will shine through and encourage others to talk about you in a positive light.

What Drives You to do Your Job?

Why did you become a therapists? You should know by now it wasn’t for the money or the prestige. However, some therapists often lose their real passion in the day to day business of working in a busy practice.

By sharing why you do what you do, and where you work – whether it is private practice or not – you’ll begin to find that your enthusiasm is catchy!

Value the Therapy You Give

Like many other professionals, you offer great value and a much-needed service to the community.

By sharing the good you do with others, you are adding even more value to what you do. As others begin to realize how important your work is.

What Lights Up Your Day?

If you are at your kids’ sports training or picking up your dry cleaning, share one thing that lit up your day.

Of course, you are going to keep your client’s details confidential, but why not share how you helped a couple rebuild their marriage or brought clarity to someone who was struggling with addiction?

Take small opportunities to celebrate the work you do by sharing snippets with others.

It will not only help you feel good, but you’ll find that more referrals may start showing up at your door.

Remember Therasoft can take the worry out of getting your documentation right.
